How Do you Observe Tartan Day?
Tartan Day, officially April 6, came to my part of the Great White North only a few years back. When it's fallen on a weekend, there have been local outdoor and pub events (sometimes in the snow, outdoors I mean); on weekdays such things are a little harder to find and of course many things are redirected to the previous weekend. This year that's Easter, so it's complicated. What I'm interested in finding out is: how do you celebrate or observe Tartan Day in your area, Kilties- or do you?

Officially it was already celebrated in our state last weekend, probably because of Easter this weekend.
I was unable to attend, thus I will fly the Scottish flag (Cross of St Andrews) outside our house, and my daughter & I will be wearing tartan (my wife has to work & dress code won't allow her too).

I just found out about it through this forum within the last year. I will be working on Tartan Day and since I don't own a tartan kilt I will just wear a Federal Memorial Tartan tie with my Utilikilt.

Great choice of tartan, Red Stag! Are you a member of the Sons of Union Veterans?

New York City has it's Tartan Day Parade on April 10. I'll be marching in it again, as I have for last two years. Of course, it always ends with a visit to a nice pub or two (or three!).

The newly re-formed Arkansas Scottish Cultural Society will have a get together (can you say party!) at Creegan's Irish Pub in North Little Rock, AR. I, for one, will be kilted all day. Have already warned my new boss.

I will be wearing my kilt all day, will be voting that day, and working too, so hopefully I won't have to deal with too much,( the job I am working for the 6th is as a Salesperson)

In previous years I've worn a tartan shirt, but this will be the first year in which I had a tartan kilt to wear. Unfortunately I have no meetings or such that day, so my kilt might well go unseen. I need to find someone willing to go to the pub with me...

Since I can't wear the kilt to work (I teach) I'll be wearing a MacPherson tartan tie...and perhaps a visit to the local will be in order after classes...
