    Smile An exciting weekend

I finished my first X-Kilt over the weekend, and went "out and about" kilted for the first time on Sunday. That was a great experience, and I think I'm hooked now, since I can't wait until next weekend to start the next kilt... I used the instructions Alan H. so generously posted for all to use and enjoy, and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to put it together. Having made one, I have in mind the adjustments I want to make to improve my next x-kilt, and maybe another one or two in different colors...

Anyhow, Sunday evening I wore my new kilt to dinner with my family, and was then even more excited when I was able to try on my new tartan traditional kilt that is only a week from being done!

I then spent as much of Monday as I could in my kilt, and it was rather disappointing to have to change to go to work on Monday afternoon. I was able to show it off at the kids' school, and then at the grocery store a little later. One of the cashiers serving me asked if I was going to something special, or just enjoyed being kilted everyday. When I told her I was kilted everyday (at least since I made the kilt!) she wanted a card from me so I could make a kilt for someone she knew... I think that was a pretty cool compliment, even though I had to let her down gently!

You do realise that you are going to have a rack full of kilts and a stash of fabric large enough to be dangerous?

If you didn't, it is far too late now - happy kilting.

I read this response to my wife, and she got a scared look on her face...

Then we went to WalMart and I found some Maple Leaf tartan in PV... Maybe kilt #4?
