    Amerikilt Material

I just bought an Amerikilt at the Pa Celtic Fling and an curious, what fabric is it made of. That thing is "nice" as my "slowly coming around" wife says. Anyone know?

Someone probably knows a more detailed description of the fabric but it's basically just a light weight cotton twill. Per their web site it's "100% pre-shrunk cotton, 8.5oz Chino Twill" .

I own two AK's. The khaki feels to be a mid-weight cotton. The olive drab is lighter - either a lighter weight cotton or a cotton/poly blend.

    New Material Coming??

I had actually received an email from Michael back in April that said:

Over the years we've heard from some customers concerned with our cotton fabrics tendency to wrinkle after a washing. In light of that, we're now working with a 9.5 oz synthetic that has a beautiful hand and treated with a wicking application that helps pull sweat from the surface of the skin - helping the wearer stay dry. THis stuff is nice. You can sleep in this AmeriKilt and it looks like new at all times.

I will be interested in hearing more as these come to market.

Yeah, that's the one. Mine is some kind of synthetic, not cotton. if i could find out what it is and find some yardage kilt #3+ is just around the corner.
I did message Amerikilt but it's too soon for a reply.

I have 3 AK myself, all of which are the cotton. I just may need to save me pennies and get a new one from this new material!
