Dat's nice...I see that he has one more listed...ought to get a good stock of them as I'm sure that they'll be flying off the shelf...

c-knife2009 does seem to have a stock of them but only puts up one auction at a time. eBay seller MooseCreekGear also sells them but lists them as a "skean dhu," so the auction prices seem to go a bit higher.
I'm sure there are other seller's around who carry the same product

One thing I thought of- a magnetic holder? Stainless steel isn't usually magnetic?

I've never seen a tassled Sgian Dubh- or have I, but in a previous life? Is this an old tradition or one that is just starting?

It is definitely sharp enough for any job I'm likely to require of it.
As for stainless steel, it is most certainly attracted to magnets. There appears to be some sort of thin magnet inside the wooden sheath that the knife blade adheres to.
And the tassel/lanyard... I'm not sure about any historical precedent but my other sgians don't have them. I'm not sure either how it will look with the tassel hanging down over my hose... I'll have to field test it and report back.

I tried the tassel and, while the seller's heart was in the right place, it looked ridiculous hanging off the end of my sgian when tucked into my sock. To be honest, I don't think the lanyard would look any better... perhaps sginean dubh are best left without anything hanging off them.

It's certainly a sgian dubh design, even if it isn't marketed that way. Very nice find!

Very nice! Thanks for the tip!
I'd probably swap the wood sheath out for leather when actually wearing it in the hose, but that's no worries.

Why is that? And what sort of leather sheath do you envisage?
