    Quiver for my son's arrows

My son has gotten into archery lately. As those of you who looked at my thread about the Renaissance festival outfit know, I've been making him the gear for his archer's costume. I finally finished the quiver! Only took me a week!!

This is an in-progress kind of shot:

And this is the (almost!) finished product. I need to get some hornpipe so we can attach 2 feathers to the leather thread hanging off of the back end. I was going to put a second attachment onto a D ring, but when the whole thing was assembled, we found that it hung perfectly and doesn't need anything else! I love it when a plan comes together...

Oh dear. Next it will be a spear and atlatl.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Well... He was given a few lessons on how to use the atlatl over the summer when we went to the San Luis Valley! And I can't afford one of those!

Good looking setup-simple, straightforward design. Is there a spacer in the bottom? Any spot for keeping a spare bowstring dry?

Hey, now-I broke a selfbow once, made a chucker out of it. Got good at hurling shovels with it...If you got this news:

May be a starting point for the verrrrrry traditionlist. Didn't I hear mention of a flint dirk? If you look closely at the picture...Be really cheap getting an outfit.

Yes, there is a spacer- it's about a half inch. There is no pouch for a string. I wanted to include one, but my son didn't want it. However, after it was all sewn together, he decided he wanted a different pouch sewn to the inside that can hold cross bow darts! Darned kids...

Yep, Papa Hawk will be making an atlatl before long... And flint spearheads.

Well, I do have a large roll of sinew, leather for the sling, a flint arrowhead, and a Home Depot up the street... Dagnabit, Ted, stop giving me ideas!! Give me a few days and I'll have it done.

Thanks! I was a little worried that the 2 dragons may have been a bit much, but you always give the customers what they want!

Nice work Nighthawk. Good looking and functional. Ya can't beat that.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear
