    Blanton surname

I'm from the Blanton family. My family is originally from the Charlotte NC area, where I understand many Scots settled. After a quick search I found information saying that Blanton may be a gradual corruption of other names such as Balintine or Blenken. Does anyone have any sort of info or even input on how to narrow my search?

Thanks! So I suppose if I cant find the actually Blanton tartan, which seems pretty rare, I could use a Campbell one.

You won't find either the Blanton or the Dress version (nicer IMHO) ex-stock. In fact, I believe that both are personal tartans of the designer.

Campbell would be a better option.
