Leach tartan
Would anyone know if I could buy a 'Leach tartan' kilt 'off the peg' in the U.K.? A friends colleague is retiring unexpectedly and it would be nice to present him with a gift that will mean something to him.
Scoured the web without any success. I wondered if any X-markers might be able to point me in the right direction ?

If you go to this site (Tartans Authority) and enter "Leach" in the Search by Surname box you will get several Leach tartans as well as MacBeth and MacDonald. My guess is that the Leach may need to be custom woven, but the MacBeth or MacDonald tartan cloth would be available "off the shelf". In either case a kilt would almost certainly have to be custom made. I doubt you'd find any of these kilts ready-made in the UK or anywhere.

Good luck.

I could get you a Leach tartan kilt (as could most any reputable kilt maker), but the material would have to be woven to order. So no, you are extremely unlikely to find one off the peg.

Definitely not available off-the-peg.
