A wonderful read....in the first forty pages i know more about kilts than I thought possible,,,and I know what I have been doing wrong!

Very well written...one can feel the presonalities of Barb and Elsie coming through...can almost see Elsie one hand on a hip glaring at a newb mistake...

Llwyd, there definately is a LOT of information and knowledge presented in TAKM. The nice thing is, as you made reference to, that information is presented in a very friendly manner. TAKM is great not only for those who want to make kilts, but also for anyone who simply wants to understand more about the garment they are wearing.

Agreed. Even for those who never intend to make a kilt, the information on tartan, construction, fit, and care is invaluable. Everyone with an interest in traditionally constructed kilts should own this book.

Aye, just signed up this week-end for Elsie's kiltmaking class (in June) at R.P. Blandford and ordered tartan material to make my kilt. I've never tried to make anything like a kilt before. A bit nervous, but exhilarated, too.
