Hey, ya'll ...
... Actually, I'm not a Texan by birth or ancestry, but I've been living in San Antonio for the past 15 years serving as a pastor of a PC(USA) congregation here in town. I'm Canadian by birth with parents from England; great-great-great grandparents from Edinburgh and an ancestor from Ireland. I have a son who is currently living in Belfast. I've been lurking on this site for awhile as I find it very informative. Figured it was time to register, so here I am.

Welcome from the Hill Country! For a transplanted Texan, you spell Ya'll in the old native way. The New York editors are trying to shame the populace into going with y'all.

Thanks for the welcome! Where in the Hill Country do you get to enjoy living?
Blessings,
Malcolm

I live in Driftwood, about 35 miles southwest of Austin. Not really deep dark hill country, but I've got live oak and cedar and limestone!

Not only did you use "ya' all", but also the highly proper "hey" instead of "hi".
You're Texas all right, and welcome! Sometime we really must discuss the pronunciation of Coca Cola.
