    A varied weekend

Last Fri started with 20 tons of 20mm stone chippings being delivered from the local quarry to the top of our lane. Between us and our two neighbours we shovelled, barrowed and raked it all out to re-gravel the lane to our cottages and the 11th century church. Twas a long and hard day but was worth it.

A cold beer at the end of the day went down well

Also tidied up a little of the churchyard on Sunday and also kept our neighbours garden watered as they were away.

Then yesterday started working on some more songs for a forthcoming CD we are going to release a little later this year

I am going to put a seperate post later today in the Miscellaneous Forum about x markers to help write some lyrics for one of our songs. It would be quite a global input and an interesting concept for a song. Please check it out later if your interested in joing in

Excellent pics, Derek, brings back happy memories of my visit to Rumney.
Those gravel chips should make a big improvement to the access.

I agree with Alex. Fond memories of our last visit to Rumney. And your front yard's looking grand, I'll bet that pint was welcome.

Wow Derek, that looks like a massive improvement to the lane surface as I remember it.

I hate to sound silly/odd, however, I just am. Before I went to college, I was a Stone Mason. I would spend days just looking, sketching, and being in awe of the stone work. Knowing the tools they used would just add that much more time for me to look at old rocks.

Great work on the drive. I have one that is a 1/4 mile long for my house. Feel free to join us this summer when I cover it again.
