Show us your "Home Pub" pics!

The wife and I went a bit daft recently and converted our dining room into a home "pub." This consisted of buying a portable (by three strong men!) bar & bar chairs, replacing the dining room table with two little pub tables w/ stools, and hanging a bunch of our cool stuff on the walls. Our motif is sort of 19th C. Americana:

I'm sure some of you folks have done similar. Let's see the pics...!

How fun! Thanks for sharing with us. Sadly, I barely have room for living or working space, so no pub will happen any time soon here, I suspect. Ah well... someday!

I like to see pictures of how everyone decorates their homes. I am not much of a decorator myself. My house tends to be rather plain. As for a pub I don't have one in the house now. The prior owner of this house had one room set up as a "pub". I remember a well stocked large bar in the center of the room. I had them remove the bar and the room is now my Amateur Radio room. Big change from the way the original owner used the room.

    I'm completely with you...

Every set of quarters that my wife and I ever have that includes a formal dining room always gets "repurposed" as something else...usually an office. We don't own, nor will we ever own, a dining room set and formal china...what a complete waste of a room in my opinion! We never entertain like that. Looks like you have a room there that you can enjoy.

Okay! Our motif is "20th century hobo." It's a fusion of urban, ghetto, with a bit of Japanese "living-in-a-matchbox-so-I-don't-have-any-room-in-the-house" added in for good measure. It's very utilitarian too, as having sides prevents the bottles from crashing to the floor when we get those crazy earthquakes!

I wanted just the Spartan, clean, minimalistic look but my wife added the "woman's touch" with the red & white heart packing tape...

<sigh>. Someday we'll have nice things. But first I need to get a better-paying job and a decent-sized house.

Reminds me of that old country song where the wife turns the house into a bar so her husband will drink at home.

Serious - that's a fine look for sure. Gotta be cozy and comfy.

I'm afraid that all you'd get out of me is a photo of the top shelf in one of my kitchen cabinets...come to think of it, my grandparents paternal had this really nifty cabinet shaped like a barrel that opened up to reveal the hooch collection...wonder where that one ended up.

Anyway, I'd opt for a stout-and/or-ale spigot right on the kitchen sink with the hot and cold taps. The works would have to be in the cellar, though...always wanted to be able to use that old line that so many bartenders I know have uttered in the past: "Hey...watch the bar for me for a coupla minutes, wouldja? I have to go downstairs to change the barrel."
