    Hamilton Grey PV

Last weekend I went with a monochrome casual look (not even a kilt pin). Not my usual preference but I liked it. The only thing that bugs me is the belt has brass hardware instead of silver, but for the price I couldn't resist ($15 at Target, women's wear). Sporran also feels like it might be hanging a smidge low so I may need to do some work on the hangers, at least for wearing my BKs.

    Great!

    Nice casual look there!

Perhaps a traditional sporran strap/belt would be an easy solution if you are wanting to wear your sporran a bit higher? It may also be a bit more versatile, as when not wearing a kilt belt with a waistcoat or sweater.

    Cheers,

    Brooke

    Looking good.
I also have a kilt in this tartan. When I ordered it I was expecting to find the Hamilton sett in shades of grey, however it is purely a fashion check named for Hamilton Products of Galashiels in the Scottish Borders. The kilt is a standard 24" length which is slightly too long for me as I am only 5feet 9 inches tall, but it makes a good casual kilt for winter wear.

Thanks everyone. Cessna, pretty much the same here. Was expecting something more muted, but was rather pleased when it showed up. It is a very versatile look. Mine was also 24" and I am 5'7". It is about an inch or so long so I have to hike it up a little high but for the price I paid, I really cannot complain. The more I wear it, the more I enjoy it.

I like the muted colour palette because of its subtlety. As for the sporran, I don't think it looks too low, but that may be because you are wearing your kilt high to compensate for the length. Looks good to me!

I would not necessarily agree with that, while not PV, I have 2 wool kilts that are designed to be worn at that height as they have a higher rise. Granted not all my kilts are worn that high, but the ones designed to be worn with the higher rise are very comfortable.
