Footwear advice please
Here in Britain the weather has been unseasonably warm and I have been wearing my black denim utility kilt with a short sleeved cotton shirt.
But what to wear on my feet? With most kilts I wear knee-high socks and black leather shoes. However, as it is warm I don't want knee highs. With a short denim skirt I can get away with short white sports socks and trainers, but that doesn't seem to go with my utility kilt.
Your advice please chaps!

Last year, in the summer/fall, I wore brown leather sandals with my UK...

I don't have a UK, I have a canvas Buzz Kidder, which is probably close enough. In the past, I have worn the canvas kilt with assorted sandals. Most often with the athletic sandals that have the ankle straps, but also the thong sandals, as well as closed-toe slides, I think they are called.
For out here, people wearing sandals would not be unusual.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Sandals are perfectly acceptable, as are tennis shoes/sneakers/trainers.

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Crocs, without hose. Being rubbery, they do get smelly, but you can wear them straight into the shower!
