Bonnie Heather kilt review
For another outstanding review of Bonnie's kilt making see tyger's post [http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...7/#post911206]
I spent a few months researching kilts and kilt makers when i decided that I needed a new one for my wedding. I ordered several swatches from scotweb (just about every iteration of stewart tartan that they had) and finally settled on stewart hunting ancient from locharron. After PM-ing with Jeff (Forrestermodern) about his experience with Bonnie I contacted her myself and decided to take the plunge into my first handsewn kilt. That turned out to be one of best purchasing decisions I've ever made.
Bonnie sent me photos of different pleating options with my actual fabric. She also sent photos throughout construction.

pictures after arrival... basting left in because this was months before the wedding.

will post wedding pics after the photographer releases them... look forward to the massive cast for my broken hand. Also the jacket, waistcoat and shirt were made at York's Tailors in Bahrain (that was an adventure in language barriers!) and I think it turned out well.

Looking forward to the pictures, both now and after the wedding. Glad the relationship worked out for you. I still have fabric I need to send her way some day soon. Best of luck with your current and future "billets".

Yikes! Sorry to hear about that. Will you still be able to get the jacket on over your cast?

Your images do not show up in your original post, as I found out when I went to respond to a quote from it. Looks like they are listed as being in your albums but from your USER CP I do not see any albums so they must be private, which might be the reason they do not show up. You could try making them public or try posting the photos to photobucket and then re-linking them using the same code but from photobucket instead of your album here.
RE your cast, I don't know about how bad your injury is, but you could ask your orthopedist to swap out your cast before the wedding for a lighterweight fiberglass black colored case which would look better with formal garb than a "honking big" white or other color cast. Alternatively you could swathe it in tartan directly, or get artistic and draw your tartan patterns on it instead. Pics are a must, however.

Looks real nice. I especially like the idea of a tartan cast!!! That would really make the outfit

Oh the wedding was in january. I was just a bit tardy in posting. So I have seen the pics, I just don't have copies yet. And I rolled out of the hospital @ 1 PM the day of the wedding so I didn't have a lot of choice in cast type. Everything worked out fine, that's what's important.

Pictures look great; cant wait to see them from the event. Fantastic work on the kilt as well, has me wishing I had more in the "better kilt" fund as of this time.
Thinking some folks may be onto something with this tartan cast thing, fly sling anyone??
