    Hiking the BST

After being on the road for most of the past 3 weeks (I drive a truck) I really needed a good hike. 10,000 years ago lake Bonneville lapped against the Wasatch mountains creating a narrow shoreline. Today it is a perfect multi use Hiking and biking trail covering hundreds of miles in Northern Utah. At almost exactly 5280 feet above sea level and around a thousand feet above the valley floor you have a constant view of the city below. The Kilt is a Black Stewart, Stillwater thrifty, a gift from a fellow X-marker. I am almost as proud of my new black shirt from 5.1 Tactical

You are as solid as the ground you're hiking...I can sympathize with the need to trek. Not a driver, but I spend far too much time on my tail. Sounds lovely!

Excellent pictures! I do have to tell you, my son (age 6) happened to see me looking at your pictures and said, "That's Santa! He's wearing a kilt!!"

I am sure you hear that a lot. But just know you put a HUGE smile on my son's face.

When ever I pass families along the trail I always ask the children If they have seen any reindeer. Then I tell them a couple of the young bucks are missing and If you see them Please tell them to get home right now. After a smile from the parents I Give a hardy Ho Ho Ho as I walk away.

I don't think I have ever seen a kilted outfit that looked better on its wearer and in its surroundings. Good show! Thanks for posting the pics.

My son bought me two pair of khaki 5.1 Tactical pants with flannel linings for Christmas. When it gets really, snowy cold I may try a pair under my heavyweight high-rise kilt. :-)
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

    Matty,
I did a double take 'cuz for a minute with your hat and what looks like a black scout shirt, I thought you were on some sort of BSA function. I'm taking my felt scout hat to Ireland with an Irish Brigade pin substitued for my usual scout pin. I grew a beard for the occasion too. Your hat, shirt and beard look great with your kilt. Here's to many more kilted trails ahead.
