Gutsy Smurf
So on date night last night we went to the movies to see....Captain Jack Sparrow.
Anyway in the previews we got to see the new Smurf movie which has a wee blue man in a kilt with an accent I can't place....maybe Jock can help .
So google Gutsy Smurf for a gander at our heritage represented on the big screen.

Watching that cartoon growing up, I couldn't resist a bit of Google-fu.

He's going to be voiced by Alan Cumming. And apparently the toy is already out...

This outfit seems to have been inspired by the Smurf "tartan". Talk about class, look at how the lines match up on the jacket, waistcoat and pants. Ah, to be able to afford his tailor.

My wife got a chuckle out of the preview. Good stuff.

This is not a tailored suit. It's actualy a Norwegian suit from "Moods of Norway". I recognized it from the litle tractor on his breast pocket and the embrodery on the waistcoat. You can get the suit for about $1000. It's expencive but so is everything Norwegian.

On a side note of this wonderful post about Scottish people/descendants being represented by a wee blue man.
Oddern, I thought I would let you know that here at Naval Postgraduate School, where we have the pleasure of having some Norweigan officers one of whom I served with in Afghanistan, have a nickname for Norway....
We call it Utopia......
Jubelen,
John

You need to read Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett for the real wee blue men. The Nac Mac Feegle's.

Why are they always pleating these on the front? If they really wanted that to look like a kilt, isn't the flat front easier to recognise?
