So this isn't actually mine, but rather my husband Andrew's. I think he spent about a month on it, working on his days off. The blade is spring steel, handle is oak that he stained, pommel and bolster are bronze.
Laying on the anvil out in the shed.

And the glamor shot, once he'd polished it all up

Worth every minute by the looks of it. Now how about a sheath?

That's a fine blade. I really like the way the color of the bronze harmonizes with the oak.

When given a choice, most people will choose.

I just asked. He doesn't have a sheath made yet and is debating kydex or leather. I've put my vote in for leather as I feel it would create a nice rustic look.
Piper, thank you! I will pass that along to him.

Very very nice. He must be proud of it. To me, anything made by your own hands must have special meaning for them. Congratulations on a labor of love. It looks great.

Beautiful work! I'd go with leather for the sheath. Definitely an heirloom piece. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, leather for the sheath.
Very nice piece indeed, one to wear proudly!
