How hot is it in Texas?
Making the rounds down here.
This is Elliot, a British Bulldog, and this is an "un-posed" picture (trust me, you couldn't actually make Elliot do anything) of said pooch trying to beat the TEXAS heat after his owners emptied their cooler in the driveway in Sachse , TEXAS, just down the road from me.

Oh my goodness, that's so pitifully cute! Please tell me that photo was sent in to (I think it's channel 4 or 5 in the D/FW area) the "Dog Days of Summer?" They'd love that photo! It showcases dogs cooling off, and this is one of the cutest I've seen so far

That's great Jim. Mine just keeps fining a new place to lie on the tiles floors to stay cool. She will only go outside if we make her.

That is a great pic! But you want to talk about hot...Here in Arizona that could not have happened. We're so hot that as the ice cubes hit the concrete they spontaniously explode into a cloud of steam...

Last night it was 48F here in the Mountains of Utah and it will get into the mid 80's with a humidity of 35% and that is one of the reasons I left Houston and moved to Park City.

We had a heat index of 116 F on Monday. Air temp was 97 F. When I stepped outside the 88 F house, it literally took my breath away.
Yesterday the heat index was over 110 F. The weather service issued an Air Quality Alert, warning residents with breathing diffculties to stay inside. We had some storms come through the area, dropping 3-5 inches of rain in some places, and it cooled things off for a bit, but it's hot again today.
Today, we're currently about 90 F. Humidity is currently 49% (feels like 94 F). More chances of scattered showers. Still hot and sticky. (Some folks around here call it "3-H weather": Hazy, Hot and Humid).
