Bracing for Irene
Well it's time to prepare for Irene's much anticipated arrival. Her advance winds should be reaching us in New England early in the A.M. on Sunday. Our brethren along the eastern seaboard will feel her wrath well before that.
Be prepared everyone and stay safe.

Hang tough, mate! I was stationed in eastern North Carolina when I was on active-duty in the U.S. Marine Corps, and have experienced several hurricanes - they are serious storms! Safe blessings to you, as well as to other forum members who may be in the storm's path.

My fingers are crossed for you all in its path. I hope you don't mind a wee humerous observation, but perhaps, it might be best not to wear the kilt for a while!

Hahaha, quite right, Jock! I don't think a wee kilt pin would suffice against hurricane force winds!

Yep, tonight and tomorrow morning is securing all things outside the house.
We'll be sleeping in the lower level den tomorrow night. When Isabel came through in '03 we had two sets of neighbors who had trees crash down right through the roof and into the upper floor of the house. On couple was hospitalized when a large tree came down through roof and ceiling and landed on them in their bed.
