Cigars
So, I've bumped up my cigar smoking - mostly due to a wholesale outlet being just down the street from me and my best friend quitting his smokeless tobacco addiction for a 2/daily cigar habit.
I'm up to about 4 smokes a week, and I'm happy with that, or even less... as it gives me time to sit on the porch with my tablet, surf XMarks, and get a little "me time".
Anyway, anyone else a cigar smoker around XMarks? What's your cheap stick of choice, and your "splurge" stick?
For me, I've found Perdomo's "Cuban Bullet" smokes, at around a buck each, to be fantastic... for a splurge stick, I might have to order something special from an "Island South of Miami" by way of the UK (although the non-Habana Punch Rare Corojo is fantastic in it's own right).

I rarely partake anymore. I mostly gave it up when my scuba diving went from recreational to technical.
That said, every once in a while I do enjoy a Fuentes Hemmingway or, for a splurge, Opus X.
If I'm in the Caribbean I do like the Romeo y Julieta - Petit Julieta if I can get the Cuban made ones.

My biggest problem with the big label Habanos (Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo), (besides price), is that while the quality of tobacco is great, the construction of the stick is hit-or-miss. It sucks to drop $20 on a "special occasion" stick to have it draw like a straw full of clay. Plus, unless you know for sure where they came from, they are the most oft-counterfeited smokes in the world. When they are "right", they are really really good... but when they are "wrong" it's just not worth it.
My favorite Habanos are Raphael Gonzales and Ramon Allones. Special mention to Partagas Serie D no. 4.

For a quick/inexpensive smoke, twenty min., I love the Acid Wafe. For a longer smoke, the Extraordinary Larry by Acid rocks. For more expensive smoke- 1997 Mac silver ring. Expensive, but worth every second.

One of these days I'm going to try Acid - I remember when they first came out and I was a bit more of a snob and poo-pooed them as trendy. They've obviously stood the test of time and made it out fairly well on the other side.
I've heard they are more a "pipe smokers cigar". Do you agree or do you simply prefer their flavor over say, an unflavored tobacco cigar?

I like the flavor of the Acid Wafe. They are an enjoyable smoke that has a lot of complex flavors and scents. As stated earlier, my all time favorite is the 1997 Mac. This is a maduro, heavy bodied cigar. For a quick, inexpensive smoke, the Wafe is tops. Plus, the "smell" is easy to get rid of from a squad car, and if not, they don't "stink".

Agreed 100%. I used to have several hundred Cubans at home at any given time, Cohiba, Partagas, Diplomaticos...pick your poison, but I just got fed up with trying to smoke a freakin' dowel.
I will disagree on cost however, not sure where you're buying, but for the most part Cubans are cheaper than domestic simply because our Govt can't tax us on them!

Well... with the exception of the big names. Habanos S.A. still rigs the price and when I buy, it's from countries that tax tobacco more than here. For awhile I had a friend buying 8 dollar serie d no 4's from Spain, but not any more...
And fyi... I assumed you were from FL from your userid. Dont know if I'll find my way to WI any time soon.
