    New born arrives!

Just a quick note to say that I have received my new kilt. It is an 8 yd knife pleated kilt in Locharrons Strome (16 oz) range in the Cunningham Hunting Ancient tartan, pleated to the red and black stripe and made by the expert hands of Paul Henry.

This is by and far THE best kilt of the four that I have already. An amazing piece of kit. So well made. Paul tries to make everyone feel that little bit special by personalising the tissue that he uses for the lining. That way you can be sure that no one has the same kilt as you!

The packet arrived at my door on saturday after Paul had posted it on the monday before. Well wraped up for the voyage (Paul even put my kilt in a linen kilt roll type cover with his name on it, which goes to show that he is rightly proud of his work). Lots of small touches (that make a difference) like personalised labels and things and he even included a small lavander bag to hang from the kilt hanger made from the same tartan.

To call this a kilt would be a misnomer. It's not a kilt it's a work of art. It's a masterpiece.

I don't have any photo's yet (soon, be patient) but I've included the one that Paul sent me at the end (to keep me patien while the Post Office did their work).

What else can I say. If you have the money (very reasonable) and you want a work of art, a masterpiece, then get in touch with Paul. The whole process was a delight from start to finish.

    Photos added (see post #10).

    Other photos coming soon.

Who can disagree with Lochcarron's textiles! Since it's a work of art, don't ruin it by wearing it - instead, frame it and hang it on the wall.

A great looking tartan, and even from the one small picture the craftsmanship is clear. Very nicely done indeed. Wear it in good health.

I wore my kilt to work today.

Here are a couple of photos taken, unfortunately, with a phone camera, but you get the idea.

Sorry for the quality of the photos!

In case anyone wanted to know, here's a quick shot of my kiltpin
