Kilted on Queen Mary 2 Cruise

Just returned from this cruise around the Canaries, Spain and Portugal, everything on board was marvellous and a good number of kilted gents on the 4 formal evenings. As we all know people are fairly generous with their praise to you when kilted and especially so when in full highland regalia. Only one adverse comment from what appeared to be a jealous husband who could not stand his wife praising my outfit, he said ' after all he is wearing a skirt'. The QM2 is no place for aggro so I just ignored his comment.
Here are a few pics of me and companions

    myself on first formal evening

again myself on 2nd formal evening

    myself and brother in law

Nice one Jimmy , glad you had a great time, you looked pretty sharp if I may say so. Its funny how normal non kilted men feel that their masculinity is somehow threatened by a formally kilted person to the extent where they have to try to prove their manliness by making adverse comments, unfortunately they only show their own ignorance and insecurities.
Well done you for not rising to the bait.

You're right, its not worth getting annoyed about, he was the one who was upset. He probably would love to be kilted

Looking good Jimmy, must have been a great vacation. I agree with all Grizzly says and the positive comments fare outweighed the one negative (the green eye no doubt).
    Thanks for sharing.

I thought the ship was going down from the first two photos but I'm glad the old girl righted herself by photo three... those must have been some waves!

Thank you for sharing; you certainly look like you enjoyed the trip. Was it a special occasion or just a jaunt?

Unfortunately I haven't yet totally mastered getting photos correctly on the site yet, my apologies for making you and anybody else having to crane your necks.
No special occasion, I just like cruising

My thoughts as well - the ship sure was rolling to the side! Reminded me of a storm I was in during my Navy days.

I like going on cruises as well, though so far the wife prefers me to wear a tux instead of a kilt. However, when we take a cruise to Canada next fall I'll be taking a kilt instead of a tux. I've already told her that when we go on Cunard in the near future that I'm taking a kilt.

Thanks, I enjoyed it thoroughly, although the diet has to start now, all you do is eat all day long even though you are never hungry

I agree with both Eck and Simon. Glad to see you look so well in your kilt and obviously having a good time

Nice pictures Jimmy and glad you enjoyed your cruise.

Just one thing - I don't see any sgian dubhs being worn - is that a personal choice or Cunard policy? Some cruise companies worry about the liner being hijacked and won't allow them I gather.
