Where'd ya'll get your cool kilt belts?
Yes, I want to wear 'em with jeans, since my kilt-skirts all have buckles.
But I love the look of the square buckled kilt belts.
Sooo, where'd you find them?
Thanks, Stacey
I totally blame the "Clothes Horse" thread for my belt quest, so thank you for that.

I guess we're talkin' the "waist plate" type kilt belts, aye? Where you get the belt and buckle separately?

Stacey,
Most kilt belts are either 2.25" or 2.5" wide, and the rectangular buckles you see worn with them are designed to fit on that width belt. (Note: I have seen kilt belts of 1.75" and 2" widths, as well, but generally not worn with this style buckle).
So I am afraid that you'll find these too wide to wear with jeans.

Ahh, good to know!
Well that blows.
I'll have to do some denim-measuring, I do have some wide belts that work on some of my jeans.

Ah, but this assumes that the lass will be using the belt loops whereas in fact some of those stylish lasses with the hip-hugger jeans just set the belt on top. This belt, then, serves as a fashion accessory, rather than actually holding anything in place.

Knit sweater-dress, with functionless belt as accessory.
Here we have some presumeably famous chick whom I don't know that the paper who published this photo didn't like, as they were whining about how unflattering it all is. I figure, hey, editor...you're a lowly paid wage slave who probably can barely afford your afternoon tea and coke. She's walking around wearing enough clothes to pay your monthly rent from now until the end of the year. YOU value that stuff, you're writing the stupid article. So shut your pie-hole.
But I digress. Move on to the picture....belt with no function, except for waistline emphasis.
Actually, it's so wide that it's kind of like the weightlifting belt I wear when I deadlift....back support, hernia prevention and all that.
So in fact, Matt, GGGP may very well wind up with a collection of fanastic kilt-belts, which will never, actually be worn with a kilt.

GGGP, A wide belt with a large buckle worn lower on one hip over a slim shirt, sweater or tee is a great look! Looks great with a skirt, too! Put the buckle slightly off to the side. Now you've got me looking for new belts!

Ha ha, this is the signatre look of our local KCAL9 weather gal, Jackie Johnson. Funny, all the men down here can give a detailed weather report.
Wonder why?

Meh, women can be into fashion. Women can be clothes horses. It's allowed, as long as the womans brain remains cognizant of what is REALLY important, and the monthly budget isn't busted. You get the option, because of that second X chromosome.
I just get squeamish when people with one Y chromosome spend too much time worrying about whether their flashes coordinate to maximum effect with their hose.
Kilt Belt.
