Disney/Pixar "Brave" second teaser trailer
Here is a link to the second teaser trailer for the Disney/Pixar film Brave, to be released next summer:
http://www.upcoming-movies.com/Movie...Trailer_2.html
Seems more like a typical Disney movie than a Pixar movie, but it could still be good. A goodly portion of the male characters are kilted, albeit in a not-quite-historically-correct fashion. Of course, if the scriptwriters are smart, they didn't attempt to establish a setting for the movie any more specific than "medieval Scotland". Of those male characters that aren't kilted (i.e. wearing a garment resembling the belted plaid), all appear to be wearing tunics without trousers. And yet, there don't seem to be any bare shanks (or even cadadh) among them. The film gives deference to the idea of clan tartans, or tartan as livery, although I imagine that made the animators' job considerably easier than it would have been otherwise. The king's tartan reminds me of the one Peter MacDonald designed for Rob Roy (1995), and the tartan of one of the clans reminds me of the Dress Stewart tartan.
I expect some of the early reviews will complain about the "phony Scottish accents" of some of the main characters.

I'm not big on CGI but I think I might go see this one.

Well that King's accent sounds waaaaay phony... but then the big yin did always speak a little weird if you ask me... Although apparently they have emma thompson and robbie coltraine too so should be even more phony...
Still at least no subtitles yet... On the plus side... Should be a fun little movie

Nothing to take too deadly seriously, here. I'm sure it will be good fun, just enjoy it for what it is.

Sounds like the king is voiced by Billy Connelly. If so, he always sounds to me like he's exaggerating his accent for North American audiences.

Billy Connolly sounds okay to me but then again he is from Glasgow which has a totally different accent from the rest of Scotland . I think he tones it down a bit actually else you would just not be able to understand him.
The movie looks ok for the kids.
Chris.
