Re: Galveston Dickens on The Strand festival
I've wanted to go to Dickens on the Strand for several years... I have friends who go down there regularly. Someday I hope to go, not this year unfortunately -- I'll be going to another local festival. Looking forward to seeing photos and hearing how it went!
Have fun!

Hope to see y'all down there one of these years Cynthia! That sounds like my thing with the Scarborough Renaissance Festival, I mean to go every year, but something always jams me up!

...checking Southwest Airlines for direct flights from Chicago to Galveston...you make this look like SO much fun, I have got to get down there...

...oh...Houston...didn't realize they were so close because all I keep hearing is that you have to drive forever to get from one place to another in Texas.

you don't have to drive forever to get everyplace, just most places!
If you fly into Houston / Hobby airport, Galveston Island is about 45 miles away, straight down I-45 South.

Dang, I've never been to this. I would love to go, but I've got a prior engagement this weekend. Hope to see you at Sherwood this spring, Zardos.

Barring any "unforseen misadventures" between now and then, I'll be there on opening day!
