Re: Pennys of thunderbay?
I tried to place an order about the same timeframe... He was supposed to be checking stock and getting back with me... I'm guessing something came up that was more pressing...

I know nothing about this business. It is, however in "Northern Ontario", quite a distance from the business areas of Southern Ontario (19 hrs. drive from Toronto). So, it is possible that delivery could be delayed just because of it's remoteness from the more heavily populated areas of the "south".
Hope your order gets through.

Not dealt with them, but keep meaning to.
In the vast majority of my orders from various areas of Canada, in many different things all non-kilt related, I have experienced significant delays. I don't know if it is their mail system or customs or what, but I wouldn't worry too much yet.

I'm not sure why you think Thunderbay's 'remoteness' has anything to do with delivery delays.

Have you emailed his wife? Her address is on the website, apparently she's been known to give him a prod when he's been tardy.
He used to have a booth beside me at the Glengarry Highland games in Maxville. I haven't seen him for about five years. Sorry to say, his reputation at that time wasn't that good as there were a number of complaints from customers that I overheard.
The upside was he left enough empties at the site, that I used, to pay for my fuel costs home ;)

Re: Pennys of thunderbay?
Strange.
I have only heard good things about him in the past and believe his reputation was quite high here. I used to live in Kapuskasing, so anything he ships must go past my old house - small world!

Could you clarify something for me please? You ordered something but have not paid for it? Were I the owner of this business, I doubt I would be sending anything to anyone who had not yet paid...

Re: Pennys of thunderbay?
Probably means he put in his order and was waiting for the final price with postage etc before paying...
