R'lyeh Sett Jonesin' Thread...
I know there's more than a couple of the Brotherhood who are having Matt create for us the kilts that should not be.
This is where we pontificate over the nature of said kilts, as well as the inherent anticipation of their creation.
As for me, I'm getting a six yard box pleated job, with belt loops, w/o fringe, pleated to the Color Out Of Space. It promises to be cherry.
What about you other fellows?
May we be eaten first,
Ryan

Re: R'lyeh Sett Jonesin' Thread...
Do you suppose Matt might be so kind as to let us know where we stand in his kilt queue? Both relationally to one another but also in terms of the absolute order.
When I first sent in my request to Matt in the Spring, I believe there were something like 33-odd kilts ahead of me. But I'd be curious to know where things stand now.

I bet he might be willing.
I do happen to know that I'm the first of us, and I'm currently in the number three spot.

Re: R'lyeh Sett Jonesin' Thread...
Cool thread.
First, I have not yet received the cloth, though I know others have so I'm expecting delivery at some point soon. (Perhaps I could be convinced to post a pic here once it arrives).
Now, here is who I have orders for kilts in this tartan, and where you are in the queue as of today. (These numbers are a bit relative because some of the orders I do not have the cloth in hand for -- like all of you guys, for instance! -- but also others, for example the person in the #4 position has his tartan currently on backorder waiting to be rewoven by Lochcarron, so depending on when that comes in, some people may be moved up).

It's here...
When I pulled into my drive this evening, a dark pall hung over my home. Though it was a sunny day with clear, bright blue skies for my entire drive home, the atmosphere around my house looked grey. I rushed inside to make sure that some horrible tragedy had not befallen my family, and what did my eyes behold but not one but TWO packages arrived from some horrible nether region of....
...oh, you get the point. I know all you want to see really are the pics!

Excellent!
Matt, since I haven't yet decided on how to have this pleated, at some point (no rush) when you have a moment, do you think you could post up a few mock-ups of what pleating to the (x) stripe might look like?
Also, since I'm ordering a Kingussie pleat, you being the expert kiltmaker here, which do you think would look good in your eye?

I've put in a lot of time, wearing one of Matt's Kingussie pleated kilts... would you like another two cents, as well?
Question: Are you shooting for four yards, or five? If four, then the effect will really be the same as with a standard box pleated kilt, come to the effect of the stripe sellected. If five, different ball game.

I'm pretty sure I ordered 3DW yards of tartan, which means 6SW... Ergo, I have the option of choosing either four or five yard Kingussie. Originally I was thinking five -- that has not changed... But I have not determined which stripe I would like to pleat to... I may just leave that up to Matt and say "surprise me," not sure yet. In some situations it may be best to defer to the voice with the most experience and do what his eye says looks best.
EDIT: So just to confirm, I started browsing through the original ordering thread, and came across a most disturbing realization. It seems that my original order was for 2 yards... Then, somehow inexplicably, this was changed to 3 yards... And I don't remember making said change... Then, in yet another post in the thread, coming from my own fingertips, I CONFIRMED an order of three yards... Had the insanity already started taking hold of me back then, so many months ago? I'm afraid it may be so... It may be the call of Cthulhu from the depths of R'lyeh that spoke to my subconscious, and subliminally I heeded the voice.... WAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

Since hiaku seem to be the rage for Jonesing. From Amy -
We wait, impatient,
For our custom kilts to come.
Cthulu, we wait.
And a blessing -
May Cthulu be
Merciful and decide to
Chew, not swallow live.
