The Cally at the Oslo Opera

For the Christmas / December " meeting" at the Caledonian Society of Norway we went to the premiere of the MacBeth play by Verdi at the Oslo Opera. We had the pleasure of the British ambassador to Norway joining us.

Good looking group, showing the vast differences in kilt attire, all assembled for the same function. Differences in sporrans, hose, brogues, ties, etc. Yet each combination works.

You gents look smashing and that is a very nice sporran you have there Oddern. My compliments to the maker. Though you might want to watch that fellow second to the end at your right, the one with the handsome fur sporran so very much like yours. He seems a villainous sort...

Yes Jamie, luckily for us his lovely wife was with him to restrain him.

By the way, this scoundrel has promised me a new sporran for the Burns Supper last Saturday in January.

Great group photo. I really like the hose on the gentleman two to the left of you in the photo, and the brown shoes to the right of you in the photo are interesting also.
