    my dress sporran

A few years ago, I purchased a incomplete sporran at a local Scottish festival. It didn't have tassels or a chain, and the cantle was pretty beat up.
I purchased a new cantle from Stillwater Kilts, snagged up some black rabbit fur from a local leather shop, and snagged up some other pieces from a local craft/hobby shop.
    The final product:

What kind of fur/hair is the sporran made of? It's clearly not the ubiquitous rabbit or bovine! I like it!

    Re: my dress sporran

Really nice! Would be beautiful even without the tassles for a less formal look. The new cantle is much better looking that the original. The thistle addition is a nice touch.
