OMG I have found it, the nectar of the gods!
Surely Drambuie must be the beverage of choice in Valhalla. How have I missed this one all these years.

It's a fabulous drink! I remember my parents even "kickin'" it up a notch by adding a shot of scotch. I think it is called a Rob Roy.

Rusty nail it is. It is a great way to make a mediocre scotch good. I once allowed a bartender, to his great joy, to introduce me to an "Up Your Kilt" that he kept pouring for me gratis because he took a liking to me and wanted to 'introduce' me to a new drink. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I'd had quite a few years enjoyment of the same drink under a different name. Couldn't bear to ruin his fun.

Drambuie is a wonderful elixer. I use it to "sweeten" Earl Grey tea. It's also good in eggnog and by itself. It's not available here in the States, but Glenfiddich makes a similar product that I think is even better. Admittedly, my last sampling was at the distillery while vacationing, so my judgement could be clouded. It was also not the first stop on the whisky tour, so that might also be a factor. According to the representative from Grant & Sons that was hosting the tasting I attended at the KC Games and Gathering, there are also no plans to import it either. I guess a side by side comparison will have to wait until my next trip to Scotland.

It is most definitely available here in the states! I was a bartender from 2008-10 and that was one of the bottles that the boss always required to be on hand, along with Patron, Pyrat, Glenfiddich, Lophraig, Beefeater, Grey Goose, and Skyy.

What was it called?
Back to the drambuie. I must admit I never have tried it. The responses from everyone really makes me want to try it. How is it pronounced? Dram-boo-E ?
Let YOUR utterance be always with graciousness, seasoned with salt, so as to know how you ought to give an answer to each one.
