    Smile Vest and jacket match?

Does anyone have any pictures of someone wearinga tweed jacket with a non-matching vest? I am trying to figure out the types of non-identical but complimentary ways to pull off this look.

If you didn't mean tweed jacket with not matching tweed vest, than I have an example with leather vest.

You can't see much of the (black) vest in this photo, but it's the best I have right now. The topmost vest button is there...

Another option you might consider is a simple sweater or sweater vest -- V-neck, crew-neck or even cardigan.

    Re: Vest and jacket match?

I don't have a matching tweed jacket and vest, so I'm never matching It looks fine to me, though perhaps not as well put together as the matching set. My tweed vest is a full shade darker than the jacket because trying to get two tweeds that weren't cut from the same cloth to match would be a nightmare. Tartan to match the kilt is one way to go or an Argyle sweater, when I'm wearing a solid colour kilt.

Not a great photograph and it was taken at 2 am after a St Andrew's day dinner and a night of wild dancing. The jacket is lovat green tweed. The waistcoat is dark green doeskin.

Wow! I must say, many of you chaps have pulled this look off exceptionalyl well...good on ya! I have several coloured, 5-button waistcoats made by House of Bruar, that I sometimes wear with my various tweed day jackets, quite a smart look.

    Cheers,

    Re: Vest and jacket match?

Just got this fabric to make up another vest. I think the first combination will totally kick @ss! First photo, with Leatherneck kilt, taken without flash so colors are more true. Second photo with flash and the Blackwatch variant kilt, colors are obviously affected by flash but may still work -- we'll see, when the vest gets done.
