New to Kilts

I'm half Scottish, Graham Clan, and I have developed an interest in kilts. I attempted a Great Plaide (Used a solid color, knit fabric to start), and was wondering if I could get your opinions.

Welcome, from Inverness-shire.

If you like it, then there is little else to be said. However, as you are asking, that style of kilt is rather theatrical for usual kilts these days, and the green is, er, um, well, rather loud and would not really be regarded as a "traditional" Scots green.

I agree the color is quite loud. It wasn't my first choice in color, I got this fabric because it was $5 a yard, and was relatively heavy. I wanted to start with this kilt to get a feel for wearing a kilt, and start where I have been told kilts started. Also, It's fantastic lounge wear for the house, it's like a manly snuggie.

from Chicago. I think that would look excellent in a plaid. You're on the right track. The "small" kilt is probably more convenient to wear, but the great kilt can look excellent.
