Summer weather in Maine...all week!!!
OK. I know this isn't as important as a wedding or birth but to us Mainer's it is a gift from God.
I am wearing shorts in the middle of March with all the windows open. It was 85 degrees today and has been/will continue a few more days (then normal comes back)
Our lakes have opened up, the bikes and vintage cars are out on the roads and the flower bulbs are rising and the best part is EVERYBODY is happy!
No the best part is the black flies and mosquitos aren't out yet because the trees have no leaves yet. We are all enjoying it knowing darn well next week we might be shoveling.
You can gloom and doom the Global warming. We had so much snow last year we had to dig a moat inside the yard so the dogs wouldn't walk over the 4 foot fence, and last summer we had hurricane Irene pay us a visit, so this is cool. Seize the day!

Well, I do have a neighbor who has placed lone truck tires in the bog in his driveway so you can judge the depth of the mud. But we aren't wearing hats and gloves and flannel lined jeans and.....

Great down here in Southern New England as well. Actually had to put the sprinkler on the gardens already with all the plants popping up. And I agree, after the over 6 feet of snow we got last winter and the crazy 2 feet of snow in that late October storm, this stretch just evens the scale.
Enjoy.

Yes, but the weather goddesses were upset with them and it got cold for a little while... You know how it goes...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Absolutely wonderful... and scary. For any who deny global warming, just read the stats.

Was around 24 Celcius (75F) here today! That's outrageous! I think I got a sunburn.
Of course was out and about in a kilt (as I have been for 5 months strait every time outside)
I actually felt that I understood why lighter weight fabric is available for kilts today ... the one I wore was feeling a bit thick.

It Wasn't That Warm In LA
I think it hit 72 where I am. Saturday it never edged above 53F and was warmer in New England.

Here in Massachusetts we've had very little snow so not much mud and, I think, will not have many black flies. The ticks are doing a booming business though. Very pleasant weather at the moment.
One of my favorite summers in Maine it was foggy nearly every day out on the islands in Casco Bay. Cool and damp suits me.
