Self coloured fringes on tartan kilts

Finally got around to making my X-Marks tartan kilt today, but I didn't save a wide enough strip of fabric to make the fringe. A couple of seconds of brainstorming reminded me of the solid blue fringe on the Hodden Grey kilts of the London Scottish. I ended up making the fringe out of solid grey fabric, and love the look -

Does anybody else have kilts with self coloured fringes? I'd love to see pictures of more examples, as I'm considering making most of my future personal kilts like this.

Thanks, Dale. I'll be posting more pictures of the kilt in the next couple of days, so you can get a better sense of how the solid fringe works with the garment. My one worry is that I made the fringe out of a wool blend, while the rest of the kilt is PV - I'll have to be careful with that come time to wash it.

Now that is nice! Great idea. I've seen a black double fringe on a greyish tweed Kilt before, that looked pretty startling. I think with the X Marks it would also work matched to either of the blues or the gold.

Like I say... Nice! And quite unique (at the moment )

Edit: Can we see the rest of it?

I just saw this in your other thread with the finished product! I REALLY like the look of the solid colour fringe. Well done. It gives a nice "pop" to the look of the kilt.
