The Kilted Wench Goes Forth!
Didn't want to announce this much in advance in case of last-minute problems, but - it's on! It's happening!
Tomorrow night - Saturday 12th May - I'll be at the famous (and tiny) Royal Oak on Infirmary Street in Edinburgh, singing with my good friend, the Hairy Folksinger himself, Martin Boland. There will be folk. There will be jazz - very excited to bring the 'St Louis Blues'. There will, undoubtedly, be 'The House of the Rising Sun' and 'Summertime', because Martin always makes me sing those.
I will be wearing (most likely) my original tank, as I anticipate wearing a mini-kilt might be a bad move in a crowded bar.
So stoked! Haven't done a proper singing gig in years. Should be fun.
If any of you X-Markers can get to the pub, come and introduce yourselves!

Wish I lived a little closer! Good luck with your gig! Maybe you can have someone take a few pics for/of you.

Great! Hope all goes well. Sorry I can't be there for the show as I am on the other side of the pond.

I shall be there in spirit. Were I closer I might bring my banjo and try getting in on the House of the Rising Sun.

Best of Luck with the gig, great to see postings from Hexham.
I am curious though, been scanning the pics on your site, where is "the field"? I can think of a number of places it resembles.

"The field" is a closely-guarded secret location 3 miles from Hexham in the Shire. Dotland to be precise(ish).
Are you still coming over in the Autumn?

Update: the gig went really well!
I actually sang on the Friday night too, and was kilted on that occasion, but not on the Saturday.
My friend and I didn't get to take any pictures, but I'll check with Martin to see if any of the regulars took any.
