Kilted 5k fun run
I am organizing a "Kilted 5k" fun run on July 27th to kickoff the New Brunswick Highland Games Festival. Here I am at the Runner's Expo prior to our marathon race weekend, representing the Canadian Dabetes Association "Team Diabetes" program and cross-promoting my kilted 5k.

5K, eh? You are a good man, I have trouble driving that far! It's not just a good excuse to be kilted but also a wonderful cause, I hope it all goes well for you.

Good for you! Did you run in the Fredericton Marathon?

In past years I have done the HalfM here in Fredericton but this has been a year of slothfulness so, no.

Actually here in San Jose, I'm going to be a running a 5K run that supports school sports programs and I shall be doing in kilted for the first time.

There's a5km Fun Walk/Run in Seattle every year. It's called the Great Kilted Run and this year it's the first Sunday in August. To quote the website: "wearing a kilt is strongly recommended." Check out the website, with plenty of pictures of the participants.

I believe you folks just convinced me to do the 10K during this year's US Air Force Marathon in a kilt. I'm not ready for the half-marathon. Now the question: What kind of kilt? I'm going to steer clear of a wool kilt, but would a PV be just as warm or irritating/chafing? Ideas? If I could find one, I believe it would be cool if it were in the (unofficial) USAF tartan.

I've run in my PV NeoKilt kilt before. I've also run in a sportkilt (not sure if it's acrylic or PV.) My PV is a tad short (top of the kneecap) but it's fine for running. You'd be ok going either way in my opinion.
