Went to Brave Kilted
Last Friday I went to the opening of Brave along with my wife and older grandkids. I decided to go "kilted" and see what might happen. The movie was fun and entertaining with a good story line and not just a cutsey Disney fairy tale. As we left I noticed people watching me. It was interesting their reactions, but no one said anything directly to me. The kids pointed and giggled and some of the adults just stared with questions on their faces. It was also great fun. We then went to dinner ata local diner and I got the same reactions, people just stared and talked to themselves. I used to be self-conscious about wearing my kilt in public but now I just give people something to talk about.

I plan on doing the same on my night off this week. Saturday I went to see another movie, my wife wanted to see Brave but we had not planned on the movies and were coming from somewhere else and she didn't seem to understand when I said I was hardly dressed for the occasion.

I went kilted on opening day. Got a few stares, but several positive comments, too. A few folks asked if I got a discount for coming kilted. We'll be purchasing this movie when it comes out in DVD.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion...

What a fine idea, too bad the theaters don't see it that way.

Kilted Freebie
My lady and I went to see Brave yesterday, we arrived at the movies just as the gates were opening, and were the first customers in the lobby, we were greeted by the Manager. She asked if we were going to see Brave and I said yes, she said that since I had come kilted (I always go there kilted) and it was opening weekend for Brave, we were to be her guests. After a large tub of popcorn and a drink, we enjoyed the movie and as we were coming out the lobby was packed and I got a few smiles, a couple of thumbs up and a " can we get a picture with you" request from a group of young ladies. After the thank you's, we were leaving and my wife said you like the attention, my reply was, "It's the power of the kilt!"

I was considering a great kilt for opening, but couldn't make it that day. I wore a kilt yesterday of course, but neglected to kilt the boy.

Went the day after with my daughter. She asked me to wear a kilt and who am I to disappoint my daughter? Great movie, great fun. Got some positive comments as well.
"Nice Quilt." - comment on my Kilt by a man behind me in line at Home Depot.

Lucky sod! My daughter wouldn't come within ten feet of me wearing the kilt while we were anywhere outside the car. So I figured it was no use getting a picture... Dang! but that would'a been cool.

I'm with you. My oldest daughters live in Houston, Tx, but saw me in my home made camo kilt on facebook and have given me a very hard time.

A great idea. I had wanted to do the same. I don't know if I will be able to or not.
