    army height kilt

    hello.,
    I have a question about a military kilt.The height is 5 feet 8"., it's about 1,73cm...
I'm 1,82cm,That could be too short for me??
As an army kilt the total lenght should be 25" or even 27",this might be enought for mi size...

    thanks in advance.

I don't know about that particular kilt, but Army kilts tended to be 27" regardless of the height of the person

This modern example isn't quite that high!

I read once that the old time kilts had such a high rise so as to protect the kidneys from the cold.

Far as I know an Army kilt touches your ribs, I heard kidneys might also be to do with running and not having problems .

See Argylls 1958 Cyprus campiagn photos . For some other reason suspenders rings in my head and I don't know why . Watch Breaker Morant they have some good camp details of the guys taking baths etc around camp stripped to t shirts .

Do you mean army as in Scotish or British or are you talking about Military Box Pleats or is it an Army Tartan?
