    Question Wedding Advice

I am travelling from Scotland to New York to get married and I have decided to buy a kilt. I love wearing a kilt and feel that it can suit almost any occasion. However, I have one problem and hope that some of you guys could help me out.

I have not purchased the kilt yet but know which one I shall be going for. Although the picture shows a rough idea of what my outfit will be on my wedding day, this is not the exact style.

My problem is the shoes, I don't want to wear the traditional Ghillie Brogues.

Does anybody recommend any alternative shoes, boots etc to match the outfit and that is suitable for my wedding day. Pictures would be really good too.

    Thanks very much in advance.

I wear a very similar outfit to weddings and do not wear ghillie brogues. I wear a pair of black brogues. They have "normal" laces and can be worn as "smart" shoes. Sorry but I do not have a picture.

Good luck for your wedding. You have chosen an exciting location - enjoy!

Agreed, a normal pair of brogues.
Personally I don't know why anyone would wear ghillie brogues if they weren't dancing.
(just my 2 cents but all black for a wedding?)

Any pair of black leather dress shoes that would be appropriate to wear with a dark suit would work just as well with this outfit. No need at all for the ghillie brouges if you do not like them. They are not essential in the slightest.

Normal black Oxfords (with or without toe-cap style) would be first rate, emminently re-useable at a later date, and much more than acceptable.

Congratulations, and don't forget - we'll want to see wedding pictures when the time comes. Love to your bride, and blessings to both!

Damn! Father Bill beat me to it! LOL.

Any decent dress shoe would do but Oxfords, in my mind, would look best.
