    Interesting view on kilt fashion

    Hi guys..

A few days ago I bought this...
"Tartans and Highland Dress" by Mackinnon from 1960

It contains some very nice drawings of different styles.
And I got some interesting new ideas of how the kilt was worn 50 years ago...

For example: It is recommended to wear an Argyll jacket - which seems to have been a newer style at that time... he calls it Dress kilt jacket - with a jabot....

    Sorry for the blurred picture

I think it looks very well...better than with PC jacket.

Also interesting hints on hose and sporran use...
And a kind of combination overview in table form.

It's a nice, little book. I too have a copy in my library.

    Cheers,

May I suggest someone who has a flat bed scanner do a review of this book in our "Library" section.

Let our other members have a peek at some of the content and perhaps give your impression of the book.

We all like to hear about different books to fill out our libraries.

Dunachton's book was my guide when I bought my first kilt almost forty years ago. My copy has a salmon-coloured leather cover!
