Anyone hear from Chris????
Has anyone heard from Chris, at Dunadd, lately? I keep in touch regularly, and he's usually great at returning mail, but nothing as of the last week or so. I do hope all is well. I do know that his dad was sick, so I hope for the best.

There was a whole thread about this in his forum, but it looks like that forum has been taken down now. So I'm going by memory here. He has given up the Highlandwear business and will be doing a tour guide service from here forward. He's been busy taking care of his father and moving to a new location to be closer, I believe.

Be well Chris, and best of luck with your father's illness. I also hope your guide business picks up when you are ready to return to the thistle, gorse, heather, and highlands.

Words such as "It is as if history has been rewritten" sure do come across as cheap shots against the forum. Perhaps you did not mean for it to come across that way but it reads that way.
No history has been re-written. An advertiser has decided not to keep their ad up. The dedicated Dunnad forum section was part of that advertising contract. The Ad and the forum section were removed at the request of Chris.
The thread in the Dunnad section of the forum was to announce that Chris would no longer be an advertiser on X Marks due to an illness in the family.
It was plainly stated in the thread that the Dunnad Ad and the Dunnad section of the forum would remain in place for 30 days as a courtesy to Chris. His ad was paid in full prior to his notifying me that he would be leaving. It was plainly stated that the ad and forum section would come down after 30 days.

I meant no slam at the forum with my "history" comment, but do find it interesting and puzzling that pre-existing posts and whole threads, if in a closed advertiser's section of the forum, are not archived like threads/posts in all the other sections of the forum. I am sure a lot of the members did not get to see Chris's post explaining his situation since that thread completely disappeared less than two weeks after it was originally started, and about 1 day after I posted my thoughts in it. I would think that we should still have those posts in our listing of recent posts, and that the thread would be closed but at least searchable for others to find should they so desire to read sentiments placed there along with Chris's explanation.
Just one man's opinion. But then again I plead ignorance when it comes to the capabilities, complexities and running of a forum such as this.

Thanks! Yes, I know, as I was the one who started the thread. But ever since that thread, I haven't heard from Chris, so I do hope that his da has not gone for the worse

D'oh! My bad.
I got the impression from him that things were OK for now, but he wouldn't be checking in much due to being busy. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't be checking in either. I do hope all is well, though.
