Snagged thread
My watch band pin just caught on my kilt apron and pulled a thread into a loop that now shows in the apron as a loop about 1/2" long (1" pull). I've been able to work the weave back and forth to reduce that to 1/4" (1/2" pull), but no further. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd be happy if I can just pull the thread out the other side of the fabric so it doesn't show. I have disecting microscopes available if that helps!
Feeling dismayed, even though there is much to be thankful for today.

Yikes!!! That sounds like a nightmare!! You have my sympathy.
Perhaps following the thread to the end of the apron and GENTLY pulling? I am not expert.

Just use the finest pin or sewing needle you can find and draw the loop to the back of the fabric, then if the thread looks pulled in one or both directions gently spread out the loop by pulling it first one way then the other to reduce the strain.
Work on the inside of the fabric so as not to make a mark where it can be seen. Try not to split the thread.
If there is no visible line once the loop is drawn to the back it is probably best to leave it like that - you know it is there, but no one else will.

I saw something about dealing with this recently, can't remember if it was here (didnt you comment on it anne?) or over at styleforum.
It involved using a piece of thread to pull the loop through...
