Missed it but just got a message from a lady friend about it. Common sense....

Ah yes, you would write that as 12/12/12 whereas we would write it 12/12/12

I heard a disc jockey the next morning say "He wore a skirt and there were pleats in the back, and that just made his
butt look big"

Kanye's been wearing that thing (that apparently retails at $1480 ) for a while now, but he's not man enough to wear a proper tartan kilt. As much as I think P Diddy (or whatever he calls himself now ) is, at least he wore what was recognized to be a real kilt, hose and all. Even Snoop Dogg tried, although his 'kilt' was too long.... The skirt-over-trousers thing has never looked good. Just wear a kilt. He's getting scorn from his fans, only Kim is digging the look. At the current retail price, you can be assured none of his fans will take up this 'trend'...

I watched his performance and the kilt did swish like you would expect a good quality kilt would.
Some of the comments about Kenya's kilt.
Kanye West has shocked fans by donning a black leather skirt on stage at the Hurricane Sandy relief concert in New York City.
The rapper wore the bold ensemble, consisting of the kilt, a printed black hoodie and what appeared to be meggings [male leggings] to the Madison Square Garden venue last night.
Kanye was one of many A-list performers who took part in the 12-12-12 concert, which raised funds benefiting The Robin Hood Relief Fund to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
The kilt sported by the singer-and-designer reportedly swayed back and forth as he jumped around the stage performing his hits including Gold Digger and Touch the Sky.
Kanye is known for wild stage performances, but it was his new look at the concert that quickly became the talking point of the night this time.
Twitter erupted with comments from those present at the concert who expressed their surprise at Kanye's new getup.
Among the fans of his leathers was girlfriend Kim Kardashian. The reality TV star tweeted her impressions of her boyfriend in such a bold statement piece.
"Awwwwwwww I'm so excited right now!!!!! He looks so cute!!” Kim gushed on her Twitter.
Some of the worst criticism came from Kim's sister Khloé Kardashian who also tweeted about Kanye's appearance.
Khloé sent a tirade of light hearted tweets mocking Kanye's appearance at the event.
"You must be so upset he stole that skirt from your closet, whatthef**k!" Khloé tweeted to Kim.
This was followed by more teasing from the US X Factor host.
"Calling yourself a douche while wearing a leather skirt... "swag" this is? #kanye," Khloé tweeted. "So when is the relief concert to help ease the victims of Kanye's performance? #121212 concert (sic)."
She also retweeted another user's joke about Kanye's soon to be infamous kilt.
"Not saying that Kim Kardashian wears the pants in the relationship but I am saying Kanye wears the skirt," Khloé posted.
Kanye isn't the first famous male celebrity to wear a skirt in public. Style conscious star David Beckham has stepped out in the predominantly female worn clothing item in the past, as has fashion

I missed the 12/12/12 thing, (I'm still waiting for the Hurricane Ike celebrity fundraiser) but Kanye West striving for relevance in a skirt not a new thing, a quick google shows him wearing what is usually described as a 'leather Givenchy skirt' over pants on a few occasions.
