    Tartan Tablet Cover

What can you do with that remnant tartan cloth laying about? Make a custom tartan cover for the new tablet that Santa brought, of course!

I obtained this one from Belvi Designs, whom I found on Etsy selling tweed tablet covers. I almost pulled the trigger on one of those, then thought -- if she can make one from tweed, surely she can make one from the New House Highland tartan. A few emails exchanged, the tartan mailed off to her, and a few days later I was rewarded with this.

I love using it, and knowing there is not another one out there like it!

Fabulous. Let alone a tartan cover is distinctive, it also occurs to me that the tartan is like a name tag. Enjoy using it and thank you for inspiring the rest of us.

The only possible improvement that I can see, would be for the pattern on the closure/tab to align better with the tartan on the body/face of the cover. Other than that, I think the cover looks terrific!

    Very nice!
I notice similarities of colour between your New House Highland tartan and the Ulster Red tartan. I bought my wife a shawl in Ulster Red for her birthday – will post a picture in due course.
Unfortunately she won’t be wearing it just yet, as our cold weather will only hit us in about May or June. Right now putting a heavyweight shawl on is close to suicidal!

Yes, that would have been ideal, however I'm sure she did the best with the remnant piece I sent her. When dealing with a small piece of tartan, it's not always possible to match up things like that. Overall, I'm still very happy with the craftsmanship, though.
