    Dress Blue Marine Kilt

Most of you remember Steve designed and produced a beautiful tartan to cover the Dress Blue side of the USMC. Not meant to compete with the Leatherneck tartan but to compliment it. I bought the fabric from Steve, who had it woven up by Marton Mills (16 oz wool -great swish factor). Was out and about hiking with a friend today - took along the camera.

Started on the Overlook Trail to Horseshoe Bend of Glen Canyon of the Colorado River.

As usual met a lot of foreign visitors on the trail. Hungary and Czech Republic and China today and this family visiting from Japan...the lovely grandma was most taken with the kilt and demanded a photo.

Got a really good pleat shot of Kathy's craftsmanship down at the edge of the canyon.

After, went out to Paria Canyon up in Utah and hiked in to my favorite side canyon with Anasazi pictographs and petroglyphs, and metates.

Came back to town and stopped to do the labyrinth at St. David's Episcopal Church.

A good day and some more pics of a beautiful tartan...

Nice photos. The canyons are beautiful. That is a very nice tartan. And you just about have me convinced I should order a kilt from Kathy.

Top looking kilt Ron, but a bit of disappointment with the scenery this time at that particular location. Soon as I saw you mentioned the location, I thought fantastic, another great shot of that bend in the river, one of the best views I have seen on XMTS. Maybe next time.

It is a beautiful tartan, beautifully made, and worn with the aplomb to which I have become accustomed to seeing in your photos.
    Well done. . . again.
