I just realized who the author is... the life partner of a customer of ours locally here in PA.

It still sounds like a member of Xmarks wrote the article though!

Yes indeed, a brilliant piece of Public Relations for the kilt.

One reservation I would have is this line: "And I applaud men like Mr. Andrews -- and Kanye West, Nathan Fillion, Ashton Kutcher, Alan Cumming and Gerard Butler -- who are opening up men's options one kilt at a time." At least one of the individuals here have had pictures posted in garments that are debatable as to whether it was a kilt. I do not wish to rehash that argument but just feel that something portrayed as a kilt that is too extreme can have a negative effect. It connotes a negative that fence sitters and guys debating whether to get a kilt would be put off by. BTW, I really did like Alan Cummings kilt ensemble when he was awarded his OBE (I believe that was the honor he received).

    Well stated.

The second-to-last paragraph is a bit superfluous but, otherwise, the tone of the article is a supportive statement about the wearing of a kilt.

Well written indeed! It does sound like a member of the rabble would write something like this, though.
