    Clan badge blazer buttons.

Perhaps this is the wrong place to post this thread, but I think it would be great to have clan badge buttons sewn on my Navy Blue blazer. They could probably come in handy on kilt jackets as well. Does anyone know of someone who manufactures the same or would this be custom work?

    Cheers!

Yeah I knew about the custom options, I was just hoping someone was mass producing them somewhere...

Try: http://www.boldblades.com -- he offers quite a few badges "in stock", and will also do custom orders, but you have to order a minimum of five badges. These have clutchback pins sewn into the back, so you can easily attach or remove from your jacket.

Just an aside, but traditionally blazer badges are not worn on Highland jackets (at least in the UK anyway) -- they are reserved for blazers/club jackets.

Have I misunderstood this? I thought that we were talking about the buttons themselves all 15 or 16 of them.

Chas, I was referring to blazer buttons, not cloth badges. The buttons would be more subtle.

It is the kind of thing that should exist even if it doesn't. It would be really cool. But I can hear people saying that there are too many clans for one vendor to stock them.

Have you tried your clan association? Maybe get a question added to the regular newsletter, as to who would want a set. I am sure that if one clan started it, others would follow suit.

    Regards

Generally speaking buttons that have the crest within a strap and buckle are worn by liveried servants, such as butlers and footmen. Gentlemen tend to display only their crest (or in some instances their arms) on their buttons.
