DIY Buckle brogues.
I saw where someone had done this before on here and I rather liked them so I gave it a try. These were wingtip tassel loafers and I removed the tassels then added the buckles.
So what is the verdict?

Do you have "Before" pictures?
Where did you get the buckles?
How did you attach them?

A fantastic conversion Harold. I recently picked up a pair of patent leather slip-ons and and attached buckles to those for formal wear

Here you can see one with the buckle removed. You can also see the holes where the tassels used to be.
Now you can see the back of one of the buckles. There was no leather in the center so I glued some to a small piece of plastic and the attached it to the buckle.
No you can see where I cut two small slots in the bend of the flap just above the cross strap. You just insert the prongs and they hinge over.
This was quite easy to do if you can find this style of shoe where the leather tongue flap is hollow in the bend. I think they will work in a formal setting. The buckles I picked up on ebay for really cheap.

I've done the same, yet I still end up grabbing my patent leather, Nicoll Brothers bar and buckle brogues!
