Bravehearts Kilt Forum
The recurring problems at the Bravehearts'Kilt Forum have been very frustrating. I don't know whether the problem is with the MS Front Page program I am using, the hosting company, or what. I am currently working with Tom Manuel to set up an improved forum, using the same format as the old Tom's Cafe and the current Chris' Atrium. Hopefully we will be in a position to test it out in about a week.
At the moment, the Bravehearts' Kilt Forum is working again and accepting posts.
The problems seem to be sporatic and to increase in proportion to the number of posts on the page. I wish I knew how to divide the posts into pages, but it doesn't seem that Front Page allows this.
I also have found that the AOL browser takes a long time to update the page, whereas I can see the new postings immediately when I use Internet Explorer.
Thank you for your patience.

Thanks WDP. I hope everything works out! I have given you special rank here, but I will proabably catch flack for not giving Hamish any! I may have to remedy that!

Hank

Great to hear from you WDP, thanks for filling us in.
We all know the frustration that computers bring into our lives.
Hope you and Tom get it sorted just fine.

WDP, thanks for the update. I've noticed the same thing with respect to updating the page, whilst using Netscape version 4.8, as opposed to Mozilla 1.2.1. Granted, the threading is sorta lost under Mozilla, so I survive with Netscape, but open the first post I want to read in another window, then just use the next link to go to the next message.
FrontPage, I've never really been pleased with. Used it to set up a parks & recreation online catalog for the City of Bellevue, WA. Had many issues with it, and eventually gave up on that project. On my own pages, I decided to hand-code them, using a regular text editing program.
Let us know when WebBBS is active (I'm sure we'll notice when we go to the site, but, still...).

Re: Bravehearts Kilt Forum
Thanks to Tom Manuel, the new forum has been uploaded, but there is still some configuring that must be done. Hopefully it won't be long, because the Front Page program is still unreliable. I will keep you advised.

I've just posted at the new and improved Bravehearts forum. It looks great, and works well.

Kiltmen.com is up and running. Looks good with a few more bells and whistles.
Cheers,
