The famous "why do you wear a kilt? You are not Scottish"

I live in the USA. I started wearing kilts a couple years ago. I am french but I am sure I have some Celtic blood in my ancestors....anyway. I find it annoying when my wife and some people we know get to tell me that I am just looking for attention and besides I am not Scottish. I love to wears kilts for comfort, because I look great and sharp in a kilt.... When you wear a kilt you have to be more careful how you dress. I am sure some of you guys have had to deal with that! Jean

My favorite answer to the "Why are you wearing a kilt?" question is, "Because people who don't wear clothing usually get arrested."

Ask, "Why are you wearing jeans, you're not a cowboy?"

Several threads here discussing the issue. One member contributed my current favorite, "Because it's a day ending in 'y'!"

My poor Bob. . . if he's honest, the reply is "because my wife asked me to" I know, I know, you are all full of sympathy for his plight!

You're french so it is obviously to honour the Auld Alliance or in your case la Vieille Alliance.

Robert Amyot might prefer the translation that is his username Ancienne Alliance rather than Vieille Alliance.

Some men wear pants. Some men need more room, so they wear kilts.
